Book Club Meetings

Book clubs are a great way for parents and children to share books together. By reading books and discussing them together, you can share special time with your child, while helping them develop a love of reading and important language and literacy skills. Book Club meetings are open to children of all ages along with their parents. See details regarding meeting location and “book of the month” on Calendar.

Families are expected to register for each book club meeting individually using link below:

Reading Packs

Reading packs are designed to benefit families with children ages 0 – 8 years old, helping to establish home libraries and foster positive parent and child engagement. This reading development initiative encourages families to read, play, talk and sing with their young children every day to support the development of early literacy and more importantly, a lifelong love of books and reading.

Reading Packs will be available for pick up at the Wynnefield Branch Library on specified dates. See Calendar for pick up dates. For electronic submission, please complete form attached.

Every 3 months (up to a year), families will receive additional books to add to their home libraries.

**Reading Pack includes:

-  Reading bag

-  6 to 10 books applicable to child’s reading level.

-  Information for parents about reading essentials

**Reading packs may vary depending on availability of books

School Programs

Starting Fall 2018!

LBBC “Sponsor a School” Program is designed to distribute as many books as possible to as many young children as possible. Establishing partnerships with daycares, pre-schools, elementary schools and middle schools will provide an opportunity to meet the direct literacy needs of children in those programs.

Details of Program:

 - A representative of each school is expected to assist in organizing school visit.

 - An LBBC volunteer(s) will visit school to read a book and share dialog with the children.
